Critical Writing for Years 10–11
Where reading turns into writing — integrating active, strategic and critical reading into a framework that produces a genuine argument.
One-to-one, 50 minutes, online or face to face in Wallsend.
Years 10 and 11 are where reading skill has to become writing skill. Students who can discuss a text well but cannot write about it well are not lacking ideas — they lack a framework for converting what they noticed into a structured argument.
Sessions work directly on the texts and modules being studied at school, so the work compounds rather than sitting alongside it.
